The Agony of Marriage?

I’d say our wedding can be pretty well summed up in these two minutes. Here’s my perspective:

And Melissa’s (and Jenn’s) reactions:

Yep, it was kind of embarrassing, but looking back at it now, it was also pretty damned funny. If nothing else, I’d say it’s a good sign for our marriage that we both rolled with it and could laugh about the whole thing even as it was going down.

Anyway, here’s what happened:

I had my ring sized two weeks before the wedding. At that point, we were also two weeks post-bodybuilding competition, where I dropped from 185 pounds down to 160 over the course of four months.

I knew my weight was still coming back up, so I had the ring sized a half-size up. Well, that clearly wasn’t enough, as by the time the wedding day rolled around, my finger was far too pudgy for the ring.

The scariest part was the next morning, though, when it literally took me half an hour to get the thing off. During that time, my entire finger turned a deep purple, and I’m not gonna lie, I was freaking out just a tad.

I’m happy to say, though, my ring fits perfectly now. And we can all have a good laugh about the ridiculousness of the whole situation.
